About Melbourne Retaining Walls

Melbourne Retaining Walls began operations as Geelong Landscaping around 2007 as a landscaping service that developed a specialty in building retaining walls and established Melbourne Retaining Walls around 2008.

Under the tutelage of Brett Abbot, who had built retaining walls with his brickie father, 20 years earlier, alongside Colin Colenso, a Geologist with Civil Engineering experience, MelbourneRetainingWalls.com became our brand and our main business.

Over 15 years we became experts at constructing an estimated 2000+ retaining walls between us as of 2023, of various types over various topographical challenges. Many of the early Projects can be seen in on our home page, which are a decade old as constant updates became superfluous.

We developed knowledge of materials, engineering requirements and familiarity with all manner of relevant tradespeople and material suppliers. Due to these relationships and our bulk buying over time, we can offer Retaining Wall materials, especially Steel Posts and Concrete Sleepers, at better than retail rates, and with the advantage of years of experience to share. Our service is delivery only, so we also avoid the costs of warehousing.

Not being the super fit lads we once were, we are focusing more on helping people find the best resources, cost effectively, and delivered to your site when you need it, without your employees waiting for hours on unreliable delivery promises / vague estimates. A 4 hour late delivery can cost an employer many hundreds of dollars in unproductive wages alone, not to mention the costs of extra days on a site and delays to future projects. We understand the value of such delays and put your time requirements as a major focus in our service.

We still offer the service to build walls, and are happy to share knowledge with those purchasing materials from us. If we don’t have the time to build a wall for you, we’re happy to suggest some of the crews we believe are capable of completing your retaining wall construction projects.
